POLICE, Fire and Crime Commissioner Julia Mulligan is advertising for a new Chief of Staff.

The full-time role, which pays between £78,884 and £87,952, involves being Mrs Mulligan's "most senior advisor in relation to all police, fire and crime matters", according to an advertisement posted this week.

Applicants are expected to be qualified to a degree level or workplace equivalent, with experience in directing strategic plans, will coordinate communications between Mrs Mulligan and the Chief Constable and Chief Fire Officer for North Yorkshire, and working with other groups to deliver against the current Police & Crime Plan.

A spokesman said: "The successful candidate will make key contributions towards the overall achievement of the current Police and Crime Plan and future Police, Fire and Rescue Plan.

"In this role you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to the communities of North Yorkshire, something that we are passionate about."

Applications close at 9am on February 12, with interviews planned for February 25.
