MUSIC was such sweet delight for children at Bootham Junior School at a special assembly.
Singer/songwriter Jess Gardham gave a performance and helped children in Years 5 and 6 write their own songs to express the way they were feeling.
Head teacher, Helen Todd, said: “This was such an inspirational morning. It was wonderful to see the children exploring how music can link to their emotions and how they can express themselves through song.
“The wellbeing of our pupils is the most important thing at Bootham School. We know our young pupils thrive in a nurturing environment, so our main objective is to ensure their time with us is a happy, stimulating and successful one.
“Singing has been proving to have a beneficial effect on mental health and wellbeing so we are so grateful to Jess for her coming in and working with us.”
