A DRIVER suffered a punctured lung and another was also injured in a serious crash tonight.

Emergency services were called to the A166 between Garton on the Wolds and Wetwang at about 4.40pm, where two vehicles - believed to be a van and a car - had crashed.

A spokeswoman for Humberside Fire and Rescue Service said the two drivers had to be cut free from their vehicles by firefighters following the crash.

The spokeswoman said a man suffered "multiple injuries including a punctured lung", and a woman suffered "cuts and bruises" in the crash, which caused the road to be temporarily closed and diversions put in place.

Both were taken to Hull Royal Infirmary, and the road was reopened at about 6.15pm.
