A YORK charity is to open a brand new shop next month and is appealing for volunteers.

St Leonard’s Hospice is opening the new charity shop in Easingwold, at 25 Chapel Street, next month.

The shop, which will stock a selection of second-hand clothing, accessories, books, media and electronics, will be open for donations on Tuesday, January 29, between 9am and 4pm. Residents will be able to visit the store to enquire about volunteering opportunities and to donate unwanted items to support the new shop.

Retail manager, Helen Moreton, said St Leonard’s has already received lots of support from the people and businesses of Easingwold.

She said: “We are delighted to be opening a shop in a brand new location for us. We have had so much excitement and support from the Easingwold community already and we are incredibly grateful for that.

“ Our charity shops are a vital part of St Leonard’s Hospice as they consistently raise over half a million pounds per year that goes to support patient care, so every donation or purchase really does help.” Contact 01904 788 777.
