THE appeal to raise £30,000 for a young York brain tumour victim has received a surge in donations - including one for more than £1,000.
The Press reported on Monday how the family of Emily Nicholson, 24, of Foxwood, was raising funds towards expensive immunotherapy vaccine treatment in Germany.
The gofundme website total stood then at just over £2,000 but by yesterday afternoon it had risen to more than £3,000, following dozens of donations of £5,£10, £15 and £20.
And Emily's mother Jo revealed that a 'wonderful' lady, her family and friends had banged on her door and donated £1,050. "We are overwhelmed and feel very humbled by everyone's kindness," she added.
