New plans have been revealed to change a Llandudno pub into 20 residential apartments.

The Nevill, located across the road from the Llandudno train station, which currently consists of a ground floor pub, owner accommodation above and a car park to the side is set to be redeveloped into 20 "high quality" residential apartments.

Landlord Peter Jones has run The Nevill for more than 33 years but has decided to retire and following no interest in anyone wanting to take on the business he decided for the redevelopment option.

Matthew Jones Architects have now taken on the project for the new redevelopment and plans have been submitted to the council with a decision expected early this year.

Matthew Jones, director of Matthew Jones Architects in Deganwy, said: "We are really pleased to help with this exciting project.

"The building is ideally located in the centre of town, right opposite the train station, and whilst the loss of the pub is regrettable, this residential conversion will give the building and locality a new lease of life.

"Whilst preserving the traditional Victorian Architecture, we have designed a new modern ‘extension’ that respects the traditional building and conservation area."
