TWO wards at York Hospital have been closed to visitors this weekend.
An outbreak of norovirus has led to the closure of Ward 28, while Ward 39 has been closed due to patients suffering from flu.
The hospital has urged people with friends or relatives on these wards not to visit to help to contain the problem.
On Sunday, a sign in the hospital read: "It is important that we limit the spread of infection by following Infection Prevention advice.
"Please do not visit if the ward is closed due to diarrhoea and/or vomiting only essential visits will be permitted."
Visitors who are concerned should speak to a member of staff with any questions or concerns.
