SPEAKERS from the BBC, IBM and local businesses will appear at the York Technology Conference this month.
The one-day event was set up by University of York students and backed by digital agency Netsells and Science City York, and open to students and businesses on January 30.
Toby Cannon, third year student and conference director, said: "We created the York Technology Conference to provide a platform that encourages collaboration between industry leaders and students with a passion for technology. Our event assists in bridging the gap between academic study and commercial applications of technology."
Heather Niven, head of Science City York, said: "This is exactly the sort of activity we need in the city, bringing bright enthusiastic students together with the successful innovative businesses here in York, to learn about each other, network and build relationships. Also, there is a super line up of interesting talks and workshops covering including blockchain innovation and designing with ethics, so something for everyone."
