WORK has begun to improve a main road into an East Yorkshire seaside town as part of a £750,000 scheme.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is carrying out essential improvement works on the A1038 Kingsgate between Wilsthorpe Roundabout and Kingston Road, Bridlington.

The work began on January 7 and is expected to be completed in six weeks, weather permitting.

The scheme is being undertaken by the council’s Streetscene Services, using funding secured from the Department for Transport and the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership’s Local Growth Fund.
