FRIENDS, family and former colleagues of a York charity grants manager who died after a courageous four-year battle against a brain tumour are being invited to a celebration of her life.

The Press reported recently how Patricia Greenwood, of Sutton Upon Derwent, who worked as the Yorkshire regional grant manager for Lloyds Bank Foundation, which gave over £2 million annually to Yorkshire based charities - had died aged 53.

A private cremation has since been held and Pat is now set to be interred at a private family ceremony in March, said her husband Mike Floyd.

He said there would also be a ‘Celebration of Life’ memorial service at St Michael and All Angels Church in Sutton at 3pm on Saturday March 30, followed by refreshments in the village hall, at which family, friends and colleagues would share highlights of her life.

“In order to manage logistics, the family request that those wishing to attend leave their details with the funeral directors at enquiries@jgfielderandson.co.uk,” he said.

He asked people not to bring flowers, with donations going to St Leonards Hospice and the Brain Tumour charity.

Mr Floyd said Pat had many friends and colleagues from York and beyond who had becoming lifelong friends and her passion for life had seen her pursue her remaining four years with the same enthusiasm as she gave to her career.

“She travelled the length and breadth of the country to visit friends for what could have been her last visit,”he said. “She loved walking in the hills and visited the Lake District many times in between her radio and chemotherapy sessions. Her major passion was her garden and the birds attracted by her planting plans. They all miss her terribly.”
