AN investigation is underway into the cause of a fire in a flat in North Yorkshire early this morning (January 14).
Fire crews were called to the incident on Middlewalk in Scarborough at about 4.55am. The fire was confined to the living room of the flat.
The crews put the fire out using four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a thermal imaging camera.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "The cause is currently being investigated.
"The property did have smoke alarms inside which sounded, alerting the neighbours of the fire. Fortunately no-one was inside the property."
