Historic Fossgate in York is about to shut to traffic for 10-weeks while a major revamp takes place.
We took this opportunity to look through the archives and dig out these pictures of the street from over the years.
The road and all its bars, shops and cafes remain open for business to pedestrians, but today (Sunday) is the last day traffic will be able to use it between Stonebow and Walmgate until Monday, March 25.
The closure is taking place while workmen reconstruct the pavements on both sides of the street.
