A POWER cut at Vangarde shopping centre is set to last until 6pm tonight.
A spokeswoman for Northern powergrid said a company accidentally damaged an underground cable at the site.
In a statement they said: "Just after 11am today a power cut affected around 11 properties in the YO32 9 postcode area of York after another company inadvertently damaged an underground electricity cable.
“Our teams are carrying out repairs to our underground network and we are expecting power to be restored at around 6pm today.
"We'd like to thank our customers for their patience whilst our teams work to get the lights back on.
"Stores at the retail park have been affected by the power cut, but Marks and Spencer remains open as normal."
