RESIDENTS are invited to have their say on parking in the city at a meeting tomorrow.

A task group will meet at West Offices at 4.30pm for informal discussions about residents’ parking schemes.

Councillors are planning to look at how the current scheme is working and areas where it could be improved. Cllr Andy D’Agorne, who will chair the task group, said they will look at issues including delays for people who want residents’ parking to be allocated in their neighbourhood and also the cost of the process for installing a Respark scheme.

One of the aims of the review is to consider different or simplified methods that could be used, such as new technology.

The group will also discuss the size of residents’ parking zones and whether they could be made bigger.

And they will also look at how other local authorities manage their priority parking areas.

A report prepared for a council meeting in November said York has 61 different Respark zones and the number is increasing every year as residents request permit parking on their streets.
