A STRING of burglaries have been reported in York.

North Yorkshire Police said at least three burglaries had taken place at separate properties in Acomb overnight on Monday, January 7.

A Skywatcher Synscan telescope with a 102mm lens, accompanying stand and filters were stolen from the garage of a property in Askham Lane. Anyone with information should phone police quoting job 272 of January 8.

A garage in Wetherby Road was burgled between 10.10pm on Monday and 6.30am on Tuesday, and a Specialized road bike with a metallic blue and grey, aqua and white frame was stolen. Anyone with information should phone 101 quoting job 419 of January 8.

The third burglary happened in Kingsthorpe between 5.30pm on Monday and 10.30am on Tuesday, but police could not confirm what had been stolen. Anyone with information should phone 101 quoting job 153 of Tuesday.

A police spokesman urged residents in the Acomb area to look out for anything suspicious and ensure their homes, garages and outbuildings are secure.
