FIREFIGHTERS were called into action when a pile of rubbish was set on fire deliberately in York last night (January 7).
Fire crews responded to reports of a garage on fire in Wellington Street, off Barbican Road, at about 11.50pm, but when they arrived they found that it was a rubbish pile on fire.
It had been "set alight deliberately," North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said.
Crews put the fire out using a bucket of water.
