PLANS for a new £10,000 study to look at access to Fulford School have been given the go-ahead.
The Press reported in June how frustrated householders claimed there was "absolute chaos" in Fulfordgate every weekday morning and afternoon when a convoy of buses trundled through to enter and leave the school, and when parents dropped off and picked up their children.
City of York Council’s executive member for transport, Cllr Peter Dew, agreed to the proposals.
The council will look at options for an access route to the south of the site as part of the Germany Beck development.
Cllr Dew said: “Going in and out of Fulfordgate is not easy when buses are trying to go in and out at the same time and cars are parked there.
“It’s not very pleasant for residents. I think we all agree that something needs to be done.”
