YORK City have parted company with manager Sam Collins.

The decision came after today's 1-0 defeat at Curzon Ashton - the Minstermen's seventh straight National League North away defeat.

City's sporting director and former double-promotion Doncaster boss Dave Penney will now oversee training until a new manager is appointed.

A club statement read: "The club's board would like to thank Sam for his hard work and professionalism."

Collins declined to comment on his departure when contacted by The Press.
