PLANS to dual part of York's outer ring road are making good progress, York council leader Ian Gillies has revealed.
He said an ongoing £38 million scheme to upgrade seven roundabouts is due to be completed by March 2022, with the enlarged Wetherby Road roundabout due to be fully opened this month.
He said work on a Monks Cross roundabout was due to start in early 2019 and design work was ongoing for the remaining roundabouts.
Subject to approval by City of York Council’s executive, an application for funding for dualling of the stretch from the A19 to Little Hopgrove- estimated to cost £28million - would be submitted this month.
He added the aim was to complete the total project by 2023.
