North Yorkshire Police said burglars broke into storage buildings at Oliver's Mount race circuit at Scarborough between Friday, December 7, and Monday, December 10.

Among the high-value goods stolen were eight generators, a large motorbike trailer and a Billy Goat road sweeper, and police have called on anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact them.

A spokesman said: "In particular, we are appealing for information about suspicious vehicles that may have been seen around the Oliver’s Mount circuit over the weekend and any information about the location of the items that have been stolen.

"Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for PC Adam Elliott."
