A LOCAL community group in Acomb is running a Christmas race tomorrow, Saturday, with the winners being rewarded a full Christmas dinner.
Chill in the Community have joined forces with Tesco and Acomb Green Grocers to provide a family with the Christmas essentials including turkey, vegetables, cake, wine and dessert treats.
Organiser, Jennie Hill, said: “The race will take place at 12.30pm on Front Street, Acomb.
“People who want to partake need to wear a Christmas jumper and will have to chase the naughty elf down the street.
“It is £2.50 to enter and all the proceeds will be going towards making Christmas hampers to others in need.”
