GOLFERS at a York club raised £10,400 for St Leonard's Hospice at a special event.
Pike Hills Golf Club and its members have supported the hospice since 1988 by hosting an annual Hospice Golf Day, and
The event, which took place in August, sees men’s, ladies’ and mixed teams take part and play for a range of prizes, with entry fees all going towards the charity
The total - which was handed over last week - was boosted by raffles and games on the day, with prizes including a hamper and wheelbarrow full of beer, taking the amount raised by Pike Hills Golf Club over the years to more than £127,000 for St Leonard’s patients and their families.
Sarah Ross, fundraising manager at the Hospice, said: "Pike Hills Golf Club is one of our most dedicated supporters.
"Every year, they raise a fantastic amount of money; they are an excellent example of the great support we receive from the local community. Thank you to everyone who took part."
