FIRE crews, paramedics and police were called to a chemical spill at a hotel.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Kirkbymoorside, Pickering, Thirsk and Malton were called to the hotel in Helmsley at just after 1pm, and joined by North Yorkshire Police and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
A Fire Service spokesman said on arrival "crews found that the incident involves an accidental chemical spill" which produced a gas.
The hotel was evacuated and cordons were put in place, but the fire service said there was no danger to the wider public.
Crews remained at the scene for more than three hours to monitor chemical levels and ventilate the hotel.
