A NEW £7.5 million hotel has opened in York.
The three-storey, 80-bedroom Travelodge is the firm's sixth hotel, the city, includes a bar and restaurant and is now open at Monks Cross Drive, opposite the Alpha Office Park in York, creating 26 new jobs.
The development began in March this year, and the hotel opened its doors to guests in November.
Monks Cross is Travelodge’s twelfth North Yorkshire site, and the company said more than 38,000 guests will stay at the hotel every year, with estimations suggesting each guest will spend up to £20 in York during their stay - meaning a potential £766,500 contribution to the city’s economy.
Helmsley Group created the Travelodge opportunity on behalf of its syndicated property clients Monks Cross LLP. Langleys Solicitors provided legal advice to Helmsley Group and Monks Cross LLP on the build.
