WHAT a mess! Sackloads of contempt: a Greek tragedy indeed.

A Government that has contempt for Parliament and is in contempt of Parliament, and MPs who have contempt for the Government.

This same contempt has also been lavished on the people of this country.

We are told we live in a democracy but in reality we are governed by political parties that are lucky to get 40 per cent of the vote - not to mention the House of Lords. I cannot remember voting for them.

In spite of the best efforts of the ‘Ministry of Truth’ (George Orwell’s name for the BBC) to frighten the electorate into remaining in the European Union, the people voted to leave.

The European Union has never had its accounts signed off, so much money goes astray.

The ‘Ministry of Truth’ seems to have complete disregard for this and many other major problems.

For the remainers: next time your car hits a pothole, spend a moment to reflect on the closure of hospitals and schools, the poor people of Greece, Italy, Spain and Portugal, and the riots in France.

Then ask yourself: ‘Is the European Union really working?’. And be honest.

As for those who voted leave, our sack of contempt should be delivered in time for Christmas.

We’ve always been a trading people

THE message for MPs is that if they vote against the referendum, then come a general election heads will fall - the public being the executioners.

We have always been a trading people, since the time of the Romans and the Vikings.

This was reinforced by a Common Market agreement in 1960.

But we were not governed by a European parliament in Brussels.

Should we not retain our sovereignty and control of our borders we face financial difficulties, witness other European countries which rely on bailouts.

Sell-out to Brussels will puncture Tories

THE Westminster bubble, along with those great and good who believe that their right to tell we common folk what is right and tell us what to do, got a well- deserved bloody nose in the referendum when they deigned to give us our voice.

This was done reluctantly but cynically by David Cameron because he realised that the anti-EU winning party in the last EU election could destroy the Tories’ chances at our next Parliamentary election.

Theresa May’s sell-out to Brussels will see the silent majority once again puncture her and her party.

My resolutions for the turn of 2019

THE time for New Year resolutions is almost upon us. My wishes for 2019 are as follows:

1. That we turn back the clock to the 1950s when girls looked like girls and didn’t all have tattoos or dye nice hair blonde with black roots, Rowntrees and Cadburys provided employment, a billion was a million million and drugs and sex attacks were a thing of the future;

2. That Corbyn be expelled to Russia, along with Blair now he cannot be charged with war-mongering;

3. That those who do not believe the referendum result applied to them get behind the PM after all. It’s called democracy.
