STAFF and students at Archbishop Holgate’s School are tuning up for their annual carol service at York Minster.

Hundreds of pupils, parents, governors and members of the community will be attending the service.

The service will feature a mixture of carols, readings, dance, dramatic performances and sung pieces performed by several choirs from the school, including a British sign language choir.

There will be a piece sung by a massed choir of pupils from nine primary schools which are connected to Archbishop Holgate’s.

A large community choir of staff, parents, governors and individuals connected with the Pathfinder Multi Academy Trust will also be performing at the service.

Rev Matt Woodcock, who is the Diocese of York's mission enabler, will be preaching the sermon.

He is also a regular contributor to Radio 2’s Pause for Thought and was formerly a journalist at The Press.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the service, which is on Wednesday.

The doors of the Minster will open at 7pm, with all those attending to be seated by 7.20pm ready for the service starting at 7.30pm.

Archbishop Holgate’s is part of Pathfinder Multi Academy Trust, a partnership of nine church and community schools serving more than 3,700 pupils across York.
