FIRE crews were despatched following a report of a house fire in Copmanthorpe, which turned out to be a malicious call.
At around 11.25pm last night (December 9), North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service received a report of a fire in a front living room of a property on Horseman Lane.
Fire crews from Acomb and York were sent to the scene.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "On arrival crews found this to be a false alarm that was called in maliciously, believed by youths."
