A GROUP of young adults with life-limiting conditions will stage a film festival at the University of York.

The group is supported by Martin House Hospice Care for Children and Young People, and have made a series of short film and music video spoofs for the event - entitled Legless and Headstrong: Challenging Perceptions…on film - on Tuesday.

The young adults are taking part in a joint project between Martin House and St Leonard’s Hospice in York looking at how young people can transition from children’s hospice care to adult hospice services.

Dr Jan Aldridge, consultant clinical psychologist at Martin House, said: "My experience working with the young people has been extremely rewarding. I love the name they have chosen for the event, it captures their humour and courage. They and Martin House are delighted to work in partnership with St Leonard’s, thinking together about the different and particular needs of young adults."

The films will be screened from 5pm to 7pm at the Alcuin Block followed by a Q&A session with the group.
