YORK Heritage Group are starting evening walks on the Walls between Bootham and Monk Bar.
The organised walks will start from 7pm to 8.30pm, and start this weekend on Sunday.
They will then be held on Monday, Tuesday and Sunday evenings, weather permitting.
This is the first time people will be able to walk the walls at night.
The walk will invite participants to tread in the steps of the Roman 1X legion who patrolled Eboracum 2000 years ago, enjoy views of York Minster and Chapter House, The Deanery, The Minster Library and Grays Court as well as looking over the streets and houses of York.
York Heritage Group, with the support of City of York Council, are organising the opening of Bootham Bar to access the stretch of wall to Monk Bar.
Bootham Bar will be the only entry and exit point.
The cost is £3 per person, while children go free. There is no need to book.
