A TEENAGE pedestrian has been injured in an accident involving a car near York this morning.
North Yorkshire Police said it was contacted at 8.17am by the ambulance service to reports of a collision between a Renault Clio and a 17-year-old female pedestrian on the A19, near the Parsonage Hotel at Escrick.
"The female pedestrian was taken by ambulance to York Hospital for further treatment," said a spokeswoman, adding that she had no indication of the extent of her injuries and it appeared that the road remained open.
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service confirmed it took a female pedestrian to York Hospital following the accident, but was unable to comment on the extent or nature of her injuries.
