A SCHOOL bus carrying pupils to Archbishop Holgate's in York and a tractor crashed on a busy road near the city.
The collision happened shortly after 8am yesterday (December 4) on the A1079 close to Wilberfoss.
Humberside Police said it involved a teleporter vehicle and a school bus.
"Two children on the bus sustained very minor injuries," a spokesperson for the force added.
York Pullman confirmed that it was one of its coaches that was involved and it was taking children to Archbishop Holgate’s School.
A spokesman for the coach and bus operator said the collision broke the rear window of the coach, so the driver was unable to safely carry on with the journey, and police were called to the collision.
He commented: "A replacement vehicle was sent to complete the journey safely to school and the coach was recovered to our depot."
A spokesman for the school said: "There was a replacement bus that picked the kids up and brought them in.
"I think it had only been to Pocklington so I don't think many students were on board at the time.
"The bus company did call us to inform us after it happened. When the students arrived staff checked them over to make sure they were ok.
"They were obviously a bit late."
Humberside Police said no investigation is taking place following the crash.
