A 'YELLOW' warning of very strong winds has been issued for York later this week.
The Met Office warning for Friday means there could be some disruption, including a slight chance of some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs, and of power cuts.
Forecasters expect westerly gusts of 45 mph or more around midday.
