THE partner of a North Yorkshire Police officer who died in October has spoken out about her loss.
Police dog handler PC Mick Atkinson was found dead at a house in West Yorkshire, with police saying they did not believe there were any suspicious circumstances.
His partner Kellie, speaking tonight on ITV's Calendar News, said: "He meant the world to me...My world ended at that moment."
She said Mick had been the 'most wonderful father ever' to their young children. "He just wanted them to be happy children."
She urged other people who were perhaps in the same situation as Mick to talk about their feelings. "Talk. Talk about how you are feeling," she said. "Don't be ashamed to talk about how you are feeling."
