SCORES of gifts have been donated by Press readers to our Toys & Tins Appeal - with huge support also coming from staff at Benenden Health.
The annual appeal aims to ensure some of York’s most vulnerable people enjoy a happy Christmas by having presents to open and food to eat.
Readers have been donating new toys, books, games, teddies, dolls and food items to help the Salvation Army as it fills food parcels and collects toys for children from struggling families, and also to help a refuge for people affected by abuse.
A Benenden spokeswoman said staff had brought in 'lots of great items', and there had been "a fantastic response so far ".
•Gifts should be handed in to The Press’s reception in Walmgate, York, during normal office hours, other than between 3 and 4pm and all day today. The appeal closes on December 14.
