POLICE have released the image of a man they want to speak to in connection with a theft and fraudulent use of a bank card in Acomb, York.

North Yorkshire Police said the theft took place from an HGV cab parked at the Lidl Foodstore on Thanet Road, York at 9am on Saturday November 10.

In a statement the force said: "The suspect attended two newsagents on Beagle Ridge Drive, York, minutes later where he used the contactless card to make purchases."

Officers are asking members of the public to get in touch if they recognise the man in the images, as they believe he will have important information that will help the investigation.
