A FARMER from East Yorkshire has created a special Christmas lights display to raise money for charity.
Andrew Wilkinson, from Hayton, near Pocklington, created the to-scale display based on his own John Deere 6820 tractor, which was illuminated for the first time on Saturday.
Andrew, 33, said he had a very personal reason for setting up the lights, which took four months to build, including eight full days of wiring the 11,000 LED lights.
He said: “It is 12 years ago that my dad David, also a farmer, died of cancer, and my partner Emma’s grandad Tom died two years ago. This is a dedication to them. I have raised almost £5,000 over the last two years.”
The wiring is two miles long and includes 8,000 tie wraps.
