A SMALL boy helped save his grandfather's life after they fell into a diabetic coma.
North Yorkshire Police said they were phoned by a five-year-old boy on Saturday who said their granddad could not get up.
Speaking later to The Press, a spokeswoman for the Force Control Room said the call handler spent time speaking to the young boy, and found out he was calling from an address in Catterick village. Emergency services were sent to the scene immediately.
A member of the Force Control Room took to social media to praise the child's actions on Saturday afternoon, writing: "Officers attend and ambulance called as grandad is in diabetic coma.
"With sugary drink and treatment from [AMBULANCE] crew grandad is roused and going to hospital. Excellent actions for a 5 yr old."
