KATE Rusby At Christmas returns to York Barbican on December 18 and Harrogate Royal Hall two nights later, with her regular band and her quintet of "brass boys".

Courtesy of the Barnsley folk singer, What's On has five signed CD copies of Kate's Angels & Men album of alternative Christmas carols and winter songs to be won.

Warm and inviting, spicy and sparkly, Kate and company embody the joyous spirit of Christmas in their renditions of South Yorkshire (and Cornish) carols sung in pubs, complemented by Rusby's own wintry compositions, spread over four albums, 2008's Sweet Bells, 2011's While Mortals Sleep, 2015's The Frost Is All Over and last year's Angels & Men.

Tickets for York are on sale on 0844 854 2757, at yorkbarbican.co.uk or in person from the Barbican box office; for Harrogate, 01423 502116 or harrogatetheatre.co.uk.
