PATIENTS queuing for flu jabs at their GP surgery have been reminded that they can also get the vaccine on the NHS at their local pharmacy.

The Press reported on Wednesday how elderly patients queued for up to an hour in the street to get a vaccination at one York surgery last Saturday morning.

Jack Davies, CEO of Community Pharmacy North Yorkshire, said yesterday that people need not queue like this if they went instead to a community pharmacy.

And Richard Harrison said that while UK vaccine supplies for over 65s had been intermittent, he had plentiful stock at his pharmacies, Haxby Group and MJ Roberts in Boroughbridge Rd.
