THE Escher String Quartet are welcomed to the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall, University of York, tomorrow (November 30) by BMS York, the chamber music recital society.
The quartet's 8pm programme takes in "an interesting mix" of works from the old world by Mozart and Ravel and the new world by Gershwin and Korngold, who is known mainly for his film music.
The Escher String Quartet are themselves from the "new world", namely New York. Tickets cost £15, students £6, on 01904 704052 or at bms-york.org.uk.
