TRAFFIC CONGESTION: Roadworks are causing issues for rush hour motorists
UNPLANNED road works are causing congestion for rush hour motorists.
A lane has been closed on the A66 Eastbound close to Middlesbrough’s Cannon Park interchange to allow for emergency repairs.
Traffic is currently queuing back to Sandy Leas Lane and some Arriva bus services have been diverted.
A spokesman for Arriva North East said: “Due to emergency roadworks taking place on the A66 between Teesside Park and Middlesbrough Town Centre services X12/X22/X66/X67 are diverged via alternative routes.
“Due to very heavy traffic in the area services in Middlesbrough may be subject to delays. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
It is understood the A19 is also badly affected.
