POPPLETON Players will present Derek Benfield's merry comedy of marital mishaps, Anyone For Breakfast, at All Saints Church Hall, Upper Poppleton, York, from November 29 to December1.

When Shirley's good friend Jane decides to make an assignation with a man she met at the squash club, Shirley is only too happy to lend her house to Jane for the purpose, as this leaves Shirley free to spend the evening with the object of her affection: Jane's husband Roger.

When Shirley's husband arrives home unexpectedly, however, with a pretty German air hostess in tow, later to be followed by Roger arriving to visit Shirley, the scene is set for an evening and next morning of misunderstandings as the guilty parties try desperately to keep their secrets secret.

"By the end, we realise that the complications and confrontations, far from ending, are only just beginning," says Brian, whose cast features Vicki Rooke as Shirley, Helen Evans as Jane, Nigel Evans as Mark, John Moxham as Gilbert, Danni Young as Helga and Greystone himself as Roger.

Tickets for the 7.45pm performances are on sale on 07834 546885; from The Lemon Tree and Spar in Nether Poppleton; The White Horse and The Lord Collingwood, Upper Poppleton, or on the door.
