A SOCIAL care leader from North Yorkshire is planning to write to all MPs to call for emergency measures to end a crisis in the welfare of society's oldest and most vulnerable adults.
Mike Padgham, of Scarborough, who chairs the Independent Care Group, said radical action was needed before even more people failed to get the care they needed.
He will tell group members meeting at a conference in Harrogate today that the Government was in denial about social care and 'sleepwalking into a disaster that will have dire and far-reaching consequences for many years to come.'
