I refer to the recent announcement of planning permission given to developers of the Nestlé site and the intention to provide a through road which only buses and cycles will be able to access (First residents to move into Nestlé homes by 2022, The Press, November 17).

I am intrigued by this proposal as presumably any house buyers investing in this development will not have car access on the road in question.

This will be something of a difficult selling issue will it not? Or of course are there plans for more access roads to be constructed thus putting more pressure on our already busy Haxby and Wigginton roads?

As previously mentioned by other readers our local council is missing a huge opportunity as a general through road for all is needed, thereby helping to avoid more gridlocked areas, especially around York hospital.

Come on you councillors, wake up and smell the coffee.
