TWO new roundabouts have been built in a North Yorkshire town to improve air quality.
The junction improvement work at Bond End in Knaresborough has been completed on schedule, which has also seen four new zebra crossings created.
The scheme was undertaken by North Yorkshire County Council to address air quality concerns.
The two junctions in Bond End exceeded the annual target level for nitrogen dioxide - mainly from traffic pollution - and a key action was to improve the junctions to address the issue of queuing traffic.
