Where’s joined up thinking on diesel?
THE Government, in its wisdom, is trying to bring about the demise of diesel cars on our roads, in view of the toxicity of diesel exhaust emissions.
Should it surprise anyone that the same Government has cancelled extensive electrification of our railway network in favour of - wait for it - diesel locomotives?
Is this “joined-up thinking”, a phrase politicians are so keen to bandy around?
