TWO police officers were assaulted in a busy night involving "violence" and "damage" in York.
Posting on Twitter about Friday night's shift, PC541NYP said: "Such a busy & demanding night shift for band 2 in York.
"Violence, damage, RTCs (road traffic collisions), public order...you name it we’ve dealt with it.
"My colleague and I were also assaulted at an incident involving a drunk male - we are both fine but it simply isn’t acceptable."

Deputy Chief Constable of North Yorkshire Police, Phil Cain, responded by thanking the officers involved on Twitter.
He posted: "Thank you for all the hard work overnight. Hopefully the new protect the protectors legislation will make a difference in courts."
He added that a statement now accompanies files to court for assaulted officers and staff to highlight the "impact on those who are working to keep others safe".
