THIEVES who stole more than £100,000 of jewellery remain at large nine months after an elaborate heist in North Yorkshire.
More than 200 items - including gold, silver, diamonds, gems, rings and watches - were stolen after thieves cut a hole in the roof of an antiques shop in Harrogate and ransacked the store, breaking into display cabinets and emptying them.
Despite an investigation being launched immediately after the burglary - which took place a the shop in West Park, Harrogate, opposite The Stray, between 8.50pm and 9.50pm on Tuesday, February 13 - no arrests have yet been made, and none of the jewellery has been recovered.
North Yorkshire Police said at the time that the streets near the shop were busy during the burglary, and released an image of a person with their face covered and carrying a Nike rucksack in the hope someone may have seen them.
They also released images of many of the stolen items, and descriptions of the stolen goods, which included:
• A nine-carat rose gold pendant
• Several limited edition silver pieces
• A Breitling wristwatch
• A diamond and gold ring
• Gold cross earrings
• A Gucci chain
• A Tag Heuer wristwatch
• A tray containing a selection of distinctive gemstone rings
• A yellow gold cluster ring set with 30 individual diamonds
A police spokeswoman told The Press the investigation was still open, but said there had been no arrests and none of the items had been recovered.
