Reader's letter
Further to Dr Brooks’ letter about Voluntary Aid Detachments (VADS) in auxiliary hospitals (The Press, November 6), I have been researching four York sites: the Bar Convent, Clifford Street, Nunthorpe Hall and St Johns. I have access to images, in particular from Clifford Street and St Johns (called Training College on the Red Cross database).
If anyone has a relative who volunteered at these hospitals, please let me know by emailing me at gnuk@yahoo.co.uk and we can try to identify them in the photos.
