LAST year footage of a York shop's Yorkshire pudding wrap became a global internet sensation viewed by four million people.
The York Roast Co is hoping to replicate that success with the launch of a new Christmas wrap and a fresh video.
The new Christmas take on on the wrap, is described as "an eight-inch whopper that will make all your festive dreams come true" and includes a large pig in blanket, traditional Christmas vegetables, stuffing, mulled cranberry red cabbage, cranberry sauce and thick gravy.
And the accompanying video sees Wayne Chadwick, the owner of the chain of shops, take to the streets of York with a tape measure to see how much of the wrap passersby can eat in one go.
Last year a BBC video showing The York Roast Co’s Yorkypud – a Sunday lunch of beef, turkey, ham or pork wrapped in a huge Yorkshire pudding with roast carrots, and topped with gravy and cranberry sauce – went viral and was watched by millions on Facebook.
The enormous success of the video saw people travel from all over the country to the Low Petergate and Stonegate shops with huge queues forming in the street.
A spokesperson for the business said 10p from every sale of the Christmas wrap would be donated to SASH, a local charity in York that prevents homelessness in young people aged 16-25.
